| Winning an Olympic gold medal in the most difficult of all sports - rowing - is a fairly serious challenge. Writing a book about winning an Olympic gold medal is sort of fun. You get to really think about things - about how you tacked some challenges, about how you failed at other challenges, about the people you met along the way, (mostly cool cats but inevitably a few unpleasant types). Writing Assault gave me a chance to sort things out. That is not a small thing. |
